The Chef Story

Roxanne moved to SLO at age 19 after falling in love with the farmers markets, strong sense of community and slower pace of life.  While working at Natural Foods Co-op as produce manager,  she started a program building relationships with growers at the local markets and directly sourcing the freshest produce for the co-op. After a 7 year stint, she moved to the kitchen at Thomas Hill Organics and quickly became sous chef. Shortly after, Roxanne started her own natural food café in the courtyard of Smiling Dog Yoga.  She used her relationships with local farmers and the culinary skills she gained at THO to create a fresh, local and unique menu that SLO quickly fell in love with.

In 2016 Smiling Dog Yoga sold, and Roxanne closed her café.  Meanwhile Granada Hotel & Bistro was developing the Nourish concept of a health-centric take away and offered her the helm.  Together they’re focused on delivering delicious nourishing food that fuels the San Luis Obispo community."
